Heyrocco

If you’re missing the alternative rock sound that made the 90s so unforgettable, then we have the perfect new band to fulfill your cravings. Heyrocco is an up and coming alternative rock band out of Charleston, South Carolina who is embracing the heavy guitar melodies and catchy chorus’ that made the era burst with authenticity. This is perfectly displayed in their first full length album titled Teenage Movie Soundtrack (2015).

Heyrocco has recently teamed up with producer/songwriter/guitarist Brendan Benson of The Racounteurs (Jack White) at his studio in the heart of Nashville. The results are their new EP titled Waiting On Cool released via Dine Alone Record and Vital Music Group. For Heyrocco, every release has been a creative expression of their own personal experiences as young musicians. While Teenage Movie Soundtrack is a reflective piece on the band as high school musicians, channeling angst of the unknown through their process of growing up; Waiting On Cool is a reflective piece on the band as they mature, both musically and personally, displaying a broader palate of musical ideas.

Heyrocco states: “In working with Brendan in particular, we really benefited from his innate talent as an arranger and his approach to song structure and melodies. He gave us the ability to see the songs from a viewpoint outside of our own that benefited the greater good of the song as a whole, as opposed to looking at each part individually which helped us expand on the vision of what we are trying to achieve as artists and take those lessons and apply them moving forward.”

The recording for LP2 commences July 2nd, 2016 in Los Angeles and is set for release in early 2017.

Energetic Rock and Roll the way it was meant to be played; loose, relentless and youthful. These guys take chances and have all the right instincts. The songs are very reminiscent of UK Post Punk and (the good) 90’s indie bands. One of the coolest records I’ve produced.” – Brendan Benson/The Raconteurs

“Heyrocco’s new single launches us right into 90’s teenage movie nostalgia. Like these Southern sweethearts, we admittedly might not have been the coolest kids in high school—but at least we can pretend like we were while listening to some 90’s inspired rock and roll.” NYLON
