Everyone goes through phases where they desperately need to find something new and different in order to disconnect from their normal routine; perhaps an entirely different genre than what we’re used to in order to shake things up. If this is what you’re looking for, then our latest Artist You Should Know, Jean Miche, should fulfill your desire.
Jean Miche are a no-wave duo comprised of members Jonathan Kreinik (a.k.a. JK) from Washington D.C. and French native, La Fleur. The duo originally came together when JK asked La Fleur for French language lessons but instead bonded over their admiration of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV. Together they decided to jam, creating music which fused John Carpenter, Spacemen 3, Suicide and spoken mantras on repeat.
What makes the group truly unique is their ability to borrow from many distinct sounds while still putting together an exquisite soundtrack that’s perfectly fused together. Jean Miche has recently released their track titled “Vampire” off of their EP Sez Pfffff released via Swedish Columbia Records on September 30th.
Their hypnotic, trance like aesthetic will push you on a high unlike anything you’ve heard before. Jean Miche has already played local Brooklyn spaces and will soon release a music video as well as a cassette including an 8 panel zine fold out.
