Arch Enemy returned to NYC on Friday May 2nd with the support of Thrown Into Exile, Baest, and Fit For an Autopsy.
Though we sadly missed Thrown Into Exile, we did arrive in time for Baest, who were absolutely phenomenal. The band, who is native to Denmark, had their first run in the US during this tour. The band was the perfect fit for the night, and the best choice to open up the show.
Fit For An Autopsy
Fit For an Autopsy were next, a band who as always brings the energy for their live performances. The Jersey band which has nearly 20 years under their belt has been a long standing staple in the metal scene. A band that has earned much respect and admiration for their trajectory, Fit For an Autopsy were a great pick as direct support during this tour.
Arch Enemy
Arch Enemy was the band of the night, and they did not disappoint. Alissa White-Gluz brings a unique energy that has allowed the band to thrive beyond their initial era. The show held a personal significance for me, as it marked the first time in 10 years that I had photographed the band. The band was a shift in my personal career, marking one of the first major metal shows I ever photographed. Photographing the band again a decade later is truly special for me. As always, the band incited an energy from the crowd that only major metal bands are able to do so. The night was truly special for all metal heads present.
