The 12th annual Great South Bay Music Festival took place from July 12th to the 15th and I had the absolute pleasure of covering it in Patchogue, New York. Let me just say, it was a thrill from beginning to end. This was a very organized festival, everything went smoothly and on schedule; Security was very friendly and responsible treating photographers and press with respect. As for the crowd, everyone I had a conversation with was very welcoming. It was very cool discovering genres I’d never think I’d enjoy. With bands like Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Umphrey’s McGee giving me a whole new genre to explore. The bands from day 1 such as GutterLIFE and I Ignite, reminded me of how much rock can make any dull crowd move. Check out some photos from day 1 of the festival:
