Royal Blood at Brooklyn Steel

After a scary injury at Boston Calling in which lead singer Mike Kerr “broke” his foot from a fall, Royal Blood still managed to make it to Brooklyn, NY for their two night gig at Brooklyn Steel. Fellow UK electronic/hardrock band Turbowolf opened the night at show one on May 28th. Their latest album The Free Life was released early this year and their eccentric presence sure earned them new fans in the crowd.

Royal Blood and their rock arena tracks felt at home at Brooklyn Steel. The venue’s impressive architecture allows for sound from the stage to amplify without diminishing its quality; perhaps with better sound than large arenas such as Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center. A near 2 hour set included tracks from both Royal Blood (2014) and their latest How Did We Get So Dark? (2017). Sadly no encore was played as Kerr apologized for having to end due to his foot injury.
