Greece’s Barb Wire Dolls Play Brooklyn’s Grand Victory

Punk Grunge band Barb Wire Dolls from Crete, Greece finished up their world wind U.S. tour. Their tour started in California, late August of 2015 and wrapped up in December 2015 at the famous Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles, CA.

The Band formed in 2010 and played at many festivals in Greece, until they caught the attention of legendary radio host Rodney Bingenheimer from KROQ. Rodney was struck by the sound of BWD and wanted to play part of their first EP Punk the Fussies on his radio show.  Barb Wire Dolls took him up on the opportunity to get out of Greece, where they felt stuck without any opportunities at making it in the music world. They proceeded to make the move to the U.S., landing in Los Angeles, CA. During their time in the states they played a sold out debut show at The Roxy Theater on Sunset Strip. Overall, they have played on over 700 stages in 22 countries. They recently released their latest studio album Rythym Method for which they set out on tour and payed a visit to NYC.

I had the chance to see them perform at The Grand Victory in Brooklyn, NY; it’s always a fun time watching Isis Queen lead vocals, Krash Doll (drums), Pyn Doll (guitar) and Ariel Lacher (bass) tear it up on stage. Isis Queen brings so much energy and grit to the stage, proving that women can front a hard core punk rock band with an immediate and tangible impact. Not only is Isis Queen a  talented singer, she is also a fashion designer creating many of the Barb Wire Dolls fashionable t-shirts and jackets.Barb Wire Dolls are a very unique band, because melding sub-genres of music like punk, grunge and metal. They are fresh, unique and relevant in today’s music world. They bring attitude, style, and excitement giving the crowd a fantastic performance. They are definitely taking the music industry by storm and plan to keep moving forward bringing more and more of the hardcore, punk-rock music their fans crave. Catch them in 2017 when they come back to the states. Their music and unique image will surely make you a fan.
