Supergroup, The Winery Dogs stopped by the newly named Playstation Theater on October 10th in support of their latest release titled Hot Streak. The band consists of Mike Portnoy (formerly of Dream Theater), Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, Mr. Big) and Richie Kotzen (Poison, solo). Winery Dogs is equal parts hard rock, instrumental metal, with a touch of blues and some jazz with blue eye-soul, perfectly combining all of their personal sounds together.
The Winery Dogs opened their show with “Oblivion”, the first track off of Hot Streak. “Oblivion” is the ideal song to represent The Winery Dogs; it brings in the technical guitar section with hard rock drums and Kotzen along with Sheehan’s vocals complement each others very nicely, giving fans a groovy but heavy beat to move to. Other songs performed are “Hot Streak”, “Think It Over” and “Regret” and “Desire” as the encore.
The supergroup surely did not disappoint with their performance and their album has already peaked at the 30th spot on the Billboard 200 Charts. Make sure to give them a listen by checking them out on Spotify or purchasing the album available now on iTunes.
